Job Title: Senior Video Editor

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Requirements

• Proven experience shooting with RED, DSLR and pro-sumer cameras. FinalCut 7 or Adobe Premiere.
• 3+ years of experience shooting - RED, DSLR and pro-sumer cameras.
• Experience in the use of a variety of professional video cameras, camera mounts and controller.
• 2+ years of experience of creative production experience.
• Unwavering desire to learn more about your craft and continue to become better.
• A deep love of beauty, style, wellness and news is a bonus.
• A professional approach to work with great attention to detail, high quality and consistency.
• Proven lighting experience.
• High technical proficiency with the ability to configure cameras for exposure, colour and white balance, as well as advanced camera settings, including HD/SD, capture/media formats, aspect ratios etc.
• Experience of NLE systems and the proven ability to edit video.
• Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Premier Pro.
• Good understanding of audio capture, sound quality control and an awareness of sound booth systems for voiceovers.
• Excellent understanding of video compression and optimization for web video.
• Proven experience of internet/interactive copywriting within the fashion, editorial or related industry.
• Good understanding of streaming video concepts using embedded flash player.
• Experience of producing video content for various devices e.g. iphone, ipad etc, and interest of new developments and innovation in video content.
• Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment well under pressure with a flexible, creative attitude both within a team and autonomously.
• Ability to present creative video ideas to wider Creative team, constantly striving to create strong engaging content to keep SPICE TV ahead of its competitors.
• A love of, and passion for style, typography and graphic design.
• Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for music, images and footage.
• A natural ease and confidence when directing on and off camera.
• Experience of uploading video to the web.
• A good journalistic understanding of video and TV content.
• Experience within TV or production would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Creative Director and production team to capture and edit digital video content for SPICE TV.
• Create innovative concepts for original video content for all areas of SPICE TV.
• Lead all video projects across the brand, from concept through to shoot and production.
• Be responsible for all shoot research, set-up and execution.
• Attend editorial meetings, and work with wider Creative team, to produce viable video content ideas which will drive engagement and product sales in a visually beautiful and editorial way.
• Work closely with the Production team to plan and produce all video content within budget and to agreed timeframe.
• Take responsibility for direction of shoots, both on and off camera.
• Create video content to support editorial features and trend stories weekly.
• Research imagery, music, and video content as support material to video shoots.
• Support with video upload to website.
• Work with wider SPICE TV teams to create video content to support campaigns and marketing calendar
• Accurately archive footage to be easily accessed by the Editorial team
• Prepare the creative studio, checking that all equipment is functioning, setting up appropriate lighting
• Ensure all footage is completed ready for tech in time to build the week’s content schedule.
• Perform quality assurance on all video footage.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and innovation within video content and present these in a commercial manner if and where appropriate to the SPICE TV brand.
• Produce and contribute to company branding videos and presentations.
